Summary 09101: nsub: The game stops in Round 6
Description In Round 6, suddenly player submarine explodes then the game stops.
Steps To Reproduce 1) Extract attached quick save state file into sta\nsub folder.
2) Execute MAME with "mame nsub -state quick".
3) Wait for Round 6 start.

Confirmed. I've loaded the save state on the official 0.273 binary and the exact issue was reproduced. However, instead of doing it from the command line according to your steps on replicating the issue, I instead chose to load the game from the UI and press Shift + F7 to load the state.

nsubc was added in 0.274. The same problem happens in this set. I upload new quick save state for nsub and nsubc.

TBH I only tested with cheats enabled, but couldn't see any unmapped reads/writes that suggest unemulated protection. Even after removing rom/ram mirrors and the noprw.
I also don't see the game accessing any of the unused "IN1" bits.
