Summary	08651: quizard and clones: Game won't start - cyan screen
Description	Regresssion: Game gets stuck at cyan screen at start. Applies to quizard, quizard2, quizard3, quizard4 and all of their clones.
Steps To Reproduce	Start game. In 0.254 the game runs without intervention, but now it just shows a cyan screen.

No.21493 Balthier Tester Jun 1, 2023, 19:51 edited on: Jun 1, 2023, 22:04	quizard goes from the blue screen to the Philips Compact Disc Interactive screen if you wait, but then it jumps back into the cyan screen of death in a blink of an eye. The games quizard2, quizard3, and quizard4 get to the Philips screen (see image below) and stay there but none of the inputs work (buttons or mouse), or maybe I just don't understand how the cdi works, never had interest in it. Didn't check the clones but I had a hard enough time finding the roms for this, PD doesn't have them in the software lists for whatever reason. https://i.imgur.com/gXSt9pc.png Edit: looking back through the reports this seems like a regression of https://mametesters.org/view.php?id=5466. No.21495 Balthier Tester Jun 1, 2023, 22:56	Went back to these to double-check that the inputs weren't working because of some setting I overlooked, and noticed that sometimes you can get to the Philips screen and sometimes all of the games I tried get there and then go back to blue screen or just stay at the blue screen. If I remove the nvram folders and pretend to run them first time ever then it is consistent with my last post.
No.21497 Robbbert Senior Tester Jun 2, 2023, 07:09	Looks like you're confirming my report, so I've adjusted the Status. The only thing that works in that driver is cdimono1 with its various software items. Everything else is non-functional.
No.21499 Balthier Tester Jun 2, 2023, 19:25	I can confirm your report with the official mame 255 build from mamedev.org, yes, but all of your recent reports including this one state that it is a self-compiled mame which leaves the possibility of user error on your part.
No.21519 Robbbert Senior Tester Jun 7, 2023, 05:31	There were a number of changes today which have fixed all but one of the quizard series. For some reason I can't get quizardi_10 to run - when the game should show the "TAB" screen it remains black instead, never starts.
