Summary | 08510: stocker: Stocker's shifter is not a toggle
Description |
Unlike other racing games of this era like Spy Hunter or Out Run, Stocker's shifter does not toggle between high and low when you hit ctrl. There's a suggestion this game was missed when many shifters were made toggles like the above game, overridable via .cfg. https://docs.mamedev.org/advanced/shiftertoggle.html https://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=395118&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&fpart=1&vc=1&new=1667939617 |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
1. Launch game and play, use shifter view from tab menu video options. 2. Press and hold on ctrl or action button mapped. 3. Observe shifter is in high when ctrl is pressed down, and car slowly picks up speed. |
||||
Additional Information | I'm not sure if this game was singled out for this behaviour, but I don't recall running into another instance of this type of shifter work. Turbo yes, but not 'hold down' for high gear.

It should be a toggle for the shifter, yes. Currently it seems to be a simple button. Should be able to fix it easily enough. Reference for cabinet/control panel |
