Summary | 08330: polepos & variants: Explosion sounds sometimes truncated. | ||||
Description |
In "Pole Position" and variants the explosion sample in rare cases gets truncated. I.e. instead of "boom" it only sounds a short "bop". Does MAME switch the sample on and off again, while the original analogue explosion sound circuit can only trigger it (switch "on") while "off" takes no effect? Many analogue drum machines behave this way (and often need a short pause to recharge a capacitor before they can be retriggered). If yes, it should be handled as an "edge triggered" event. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce |
Try to crash into objects and listen to the sound. It need several attempts (play about 10 games?) to make it occur. Unlike I initially had mentioned, the occurrence has nothing to do with crashing into 2 cars at once but seems to be purely random. I successfully could verify it in the Atari and Namco version of Pole Position. |

No reference recordings of how the sound is cut off or examples of such coupled with the fact that no one, including myself, has been able to experience your issue here.. I' am forced to close this one as "Unable to reproduce" |
