I suspect it is similar to neogeo (borders that are typically unused) which are normally off the screen. The before and after for screen placement is the same, except there is some excess on left/right side (8 bytes each side) due to resolution change. Supposedly this is more accurate and the screen is no longer cropped (240x240 then vs 256x240 now). https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commit/61e7365ecca9a3829a296372d6efd5030efce468 There is a PR to adjust it further (I haven't tested), which may 'fix' this - but unsure. https://github.com/mamedev/mame/pull/7005 |
