Summary | 07216: Paddle emulation missing in DAI driver
Description | The paddles are not emulated, making some games unplayable.
Steps To Reproduce |
Download the WAV file from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vabEs1HtBCKvZ10cswumGshcCXdIQEpw/view?usp=sharing Start mess with: mess.exe dai -cass 2bis.wav Type: UT + return Z3 + return R + return The program now loads. After loading is finished, type: G3D9 + return You will see that the springboard cannot be moved because the paddles are not mapped in MAME. On the original DAI computer, the program runs as expected when using a paddle as a joystick. |

Following the instructions, after the 'G3D9 + return' step MAME stays on a grey screen for me. Game doesn't start. Anyway, looking at the driver I can confirm that the paddles aren't implemented. Real hardware functionality is described at point 5.2 (page 31) of the following PDF: http://electrickery.xs4all.nl/comp/dai/doc/PCRM1-5.pdf |

Ah, you used an incredibly old version for the report (0.153), in which the driver worked better. It seems in 0.153 it regressed to not loading correctly. EDIT: and indeed you already posted about the regression as MT07209. |

Let's hope someone finds the time to give this machine the attention it deserves :-) |
