Summary | 07095: diehard, dnmtdeka: Slowness
Description |
I've checked Die Hard Arcade runs terribly slow since 0.197. Worked perfect in 0.196 I thought it could be related to the recent progresses made with Sega Titan Video / Saturn emulation, but I've checked this is the only STV game that works slow since 0.197, so I guess there could be another reason for the slowness in this game. I'm using a i5 2500k CPU. 3,3 Mhz |
||||
Steps To Reproduce | Just play the game. The slowness is noted even with the intro screen with the helicopter flying.

Part of doing business, I reckon. In MAME 0.197, Saturn/ST-V video got some enhancements and fixed some bugs in vdp1/vdp2 areas. Games cotton2, vfkids, batmanfr and some observed Saturn games showed improvement. Sadly, with this increase demand of graphics rendering, it was noticeable for marginal systems. Even my i5 4570 3.2ghz needs a decent sized frameskip on diehard now. I'm afraid it won't improve anytime soon. Sadly, this does not qualify as an emulation bug. An annoyance, sure, but not a bug. MetalGod: Also, please note as you fill out other bug reports. - Your version to report should be the latest tested version (in this case, 0.201) - The Regression version is the version in which the regression was first observed (0.197 here), not the one where it last worked (0.196). |
