Description | If a game has artwork installed, taking snapshots (F12) will include the artwork in captured images, irrespective of any settings currently used in the "video options" menu (i.e. standard view, bezels: disabled). | ||||

Using MameUi, I believe this can be controlled by the tab Miscellaneous --> Snapshot view. Try the different options and tell if the problem is solved. |

AFAIK that is no way to control it other than not displaying the artwork in the first place. You simple rename/remove the artwork package in question if you want a certain machine only to take pictures of the screen or use some sort of program to crop out the screen part after the fact. This works as intended. |

As an update to his, you can use "snapview" to adjust them. You must select the string in the Video Options TAB menu which represents what snapshot you want. For example, mappy, you can get a screen only snapshot (even while artwork is displayed) by: mame mappy -snapview "Standard (3:4)" A horizontal game will likely be "Standard (4:3)". You'll need to determine what the options are by viewing the Video Options per machine. |
