Description	Entering service mode results in black screen (Which must be exited via HOLD-5 button) Quote Tafoid: Common behavior for gamblers is to have NVRAM constantly updated with game status so if the power drops and comes back, play can be resumed. This also applies to "Service mode" which is restored on subsequent runs (Unless exited via HOLD-5)
Steps To Reproduce	Run game. Enter service (Settings) mode (Check keycode assignment for service mode). The game will display a black screen. Use of "Chance Settings Keys" does not update the display. Exit the "Settings" mode by pressing HOLD-5. Exit Mame.

No.13583 Tafoid Administrator Feb 3, 2017, 15:17	I see "Setting" as a service button (default mapping = "9"), but I don't believe it is any type of service mode or test mode. I also don't see any discovery in the source file which tells about a Service Mode in any fashion or how it should operate. Common behavior for gamblers is to have NVRAM constantly updated with game status so if the power drops and comes back, play can be resumed.. so that is expected.
No.13584 AJR Developer Feb 3, 2017, 19:30	The problem is not quite what's claimed. Pressing the "Setting" button (which only works when credits are zero) does give a black screen, but two buttons do have an obvious effect after that. Pressing "Bet" shows a crosshatch pattern (for CRT adjustment), and pressing "Hold 1" returns to the game. Further investigation may be needed.

I suspect as Tafoid explained, The Settings mode is being resumed due to NVram saving operation. As AJR mentioned, HOLD 1 returns to game (Possibly any of the HOLD buttions?) Chance Settings Key Function: BIG: Move left SMALL: Move right START: Increase value. COLLECT: Decrease value. HOLD 5: Exit.
No.13587 ozfalcon Tester Feb 4, 2017, 01:07 edited on: Feb 4, 2017, 12:37	After entering setting mode and testing out the Change Settings Keys - The screen is still black (No visible screen updates) Pressing HOLD 1 exits from crosshatch back to game. Pressing HOLD 5 exits (black) settings back to game.

No.16453 AJR Developer May 11, 2019, 01:00	Incredibly, the black screen is programmed behavior. The actual settings table is obtainable by entering the crosshatch screen and inputting a secret access sequence which I have now reverse-engineered and documented.
