Summary | 06327: Many sets appear as unavailable, even though the ROM files are present
Description |
I have noticed a great number of sets appearing as unavailable, even though the ROM files are present in split volumes. Notably, Genesis (USA, NTSC) and Mega Drive (Japan, NTSC) show up in the "unavailable" tab, even though I can launch them from the "working" tab. They do not appear in the "available" tab because they are being tagged as unavailable. The sets I am using are "genesis.zip" and "megadrij.zip," so the sets are split and available. There are many other sets showing up as unavailable. I can take screen shots of all the sets if needed. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce | Launch the GUI and choose the "unavailable" tab. Genesis (USA, NTSC) shows up there, but not in "available" (amongst many others). Go to the "working" tab and pick the set, and it launches without problems. The rom set is present but showing up as unavailable.
Additional Information | I own a Genesis, so I'm focusing on what I have, and not sets that I don't own a PCB for. Something's happened to the GUI tabs.

This is new default behaviour. Go in "miscellaneous options" and disable "hide ROMless machines from the availables list". Also genesis and megadrive don't have a romset. |

Cause people were complaining that they found a lot of sets in the available folder that they didn't have any rom for. Here's the commit that changed it: http://git.redump.net/mame/commit/?id=440c90486af0ebedfdd931cd19db5dee87de4f04 |

My mistake. I didn't check to see if the machines were ROM-less. Thanks for the info. |
