| Steps To Reproduce |
Upon booting, when you see the "Open Apple" move back and forth on the screen, press... Ctrl + Command + Reset = Force the reboot Ctrl + Alt_L + F12 = works in MESS ! Ctrl + Option + Reset = Reboot via a setup menu Ctrl + Alt_R + F12 = works in MESS ! Ctrl + Command + Option + Reset = Run a self-test -------> EDIT: (Note: on some places it is said: "Command + Option + Reset" / and "Command + Option" on power-up!) Ctrl + Alt_L + Alt_R + F12 = does not work in MESS !??? Ctrl + Command + Escape = Desk Accessory menu Ctrl + Alt_L + Esc = does not work MESS !??? Ctrl + Reset = Basic prompt CTRL + F12 = does not work in MESS !??? (Note: was working fine in f.e. an old MESS143u3b!) |

Manage to start the self-test by keeping pressed "Command + Option" (i.e. Alt_L + Alt_R) during power-up phase, but the test did not pass! (System bad: 05012400) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Btw. only AppleGS emu that passes the self-test is GSport ... it reports SYSTEM GOOD! I needed to press F1 + Alt_R + F12 on GSport emu to start the self-test as Alt_L + Alt_R + F12 seems not working! (at least on my PC) Note: Self-tests will pass if speed = 2.8MHz and "Enable Text Page 2 shadow = Disabled for ROM 01" in emu F4 menu. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS. Seems some old machines also have self-test: (Note: just wait a little when screen with colors appears) apple2e ----------- Ctrl + ALt_R + F12 = self-test --> ROM:E8 But on AppleWin emu reports --> KERNAL OK (Note: use Pause/Break instead of F12 key!) apple2ee apple2ep ------------- Ctrl + ALt_R + F12 = self-test --> System OK Same reports also on AppleWin emu !
