Summary | 05947: solvalou: missing polygons during gameplay.
Description | There missing polygon graphics during the gameplay caused by the error that mame to crash. I know this crash is already reported but I'm experiencing new problems with this game. This time the game is playable but with missing polygons After messing around by pressing f2 to get to dipswitch setting, the screen is blank and then I closed mame. After running the game again, it seems like the game is only playable with the missing polygons on. I believe is due to the error in the game that causes mame to crash after opening and messing around with it several times.
Steps To Reproduce |
Step 1) Start the game and play the first level for a while the error in the game crashes the first level. Error messages says error 1: incorrect function. Step 2) There's a second error. Open up mame again and run Solvalou. Press f2 to go to dipswtich. You'll notice it is a blank screen. and wait a while..It crashes mame. Error message says Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified. Step 3). Open Up mame and run Solvalou again and press F2 again, and wait a few seconds, then close mame. Step 4)Open up mame and run Solvalou again. Now insert coin and play the game. the error in the game that causes mame is gone and now the game is playable but with missing polygon graphics on land on the 1st level and continues on to the second and 3rd level. |

The video emulation is known to not be 100% correct for the whole driver last I checked so it isn't a mystery that some stuff either doesn't work. That said, this crash has already been reported and is logged (Refer to 02085 ). Your binary doesn't appear to be mamedev.org provided as I have no clue what you are using for a front-end (command-line version do not show error screens like you show) - unless it is some front-end? |

I'm using the official binary command-line version of mame from the mamedev.org. I'm using it in conjunction with emuloader. Update: I just tested using the command-line alone fro mamedev.org without using emulaoder. I followed the steps to reproduce. The game crashes mame but no error messages like you said. But I'm still getting missing polygons getting into the gameplay after following step 4. |

I don't see a regression here and since it is flagged as not having 100% graphics, this report really isn't needed and is covered by the crash report I already posted in my note above. Closing as a duplicate on that basis. |
