Summary | 05786: mame. lst: Tool to Create mame.lst from the Drivers | ||||
Description |
Greetings. Has anyone ever considered creating a tool to parse all the MAME drivers in order to create mame.lst? Thus, automating part of the development process. That way, with this tool, the devs would not have to update mame.lst by hand. Thank you. Pat |

It has been discussed in the past. Micko has been experimenting with some changes recently that may relate to this (and the generation of the makefiles based on source requirements) This isn't really a bug report however... |

You have a problem where there are some GAME( defines which are commented or considered valid but do not have the set listed in mame.lst for whatever reason of the author (missing roms is usually the case). Right now, it is flexible but in no way an automatic situation. Haze is correct - expect changes to build system within the next few releases. It is a known limitation and is current focus for simplifying - no need to feature request it. Closing |
