Summary | 05779: ddragon and clones: After of last boss in player versus the player not lose | ||||
Description |
If after of last boss playing with two players has an scene fight player one versus player two. In some times both players don't lose even if not have more energy and being hiting more of 100 times. I remember a funny detail that both players chose who would lose because it was the only way to see the end.To lose had to descend the player in the hole This bug is random and happen in arcade not being an MAME bug. Another detail is about the bug http://mametesters.org/view.php?id=416 that "allways return". The bug post details is "When finishing the game its reset and so go to check rom screen again and freezes!". I remember perfectly that the game reset to ROM test screen after of finish the last boss or player versus. The game reset showing exactly the same screen from the post displaying "63701 ERROR". That bug is random and happen in real arcade, but I not can say correctly if is the original or bootleg. In Brazil had both original (more the japanese version) and bootleg versions of Double Dragon. This bug happen in bootleg version and I can't confirm if happen with original version. I remember very well about this and also when players said "Will it show the ending ?" and when had that power off the machine and power on to play. If Double Dragon has protection and emulation use some code with information from bootleg is high chance that the reset bug happen in original arcade and an fix is endless. Thanks. |

If you could (and this game/driver supports them), please provide a save state. This is customary whenever a bug is very late in a game, as it saves the testers time and effort when chasing down bugs. |

I did an entire play through using the parent set ddragon and created some save states which I will attach here. There's possibly more random bugs that can occur as well. One time loading the state and bring player 2 into the game, I noticed on one occasion that getting shot by the gun did not instantly drain all my life bar. The few times I had a chance to finish the game today, I didn't encounter the "infinite energy" between the 1P VS 2P fight or the reset to ROM test screen. Now there's 5 different bootlegs listed in my game listing. Would a save state from a bootleg be useful here and if so, which set should I do it with? |

"One time loading the state and bring player 2 into the game, I noticed on one occasion that getting shot by the gun did not instantly drain all my life bar" This happen in real arcade. Not is an MAME bug. This is random and hard to see. "Now there's 5 different bootlegs listed in my game listing. Would a save state from a bootleg be useful here and if so, which set should I do it with?" "Aero Fighters" Tester perhaps you will lose time. The bug is random and perhaps happen more with anothers sets. I not see difference in gameplay in any ddragon clone with the Double Dragon japanese set. I have tested with current MAME version and the "infinite energy" issue not happen. Again I say that is an random bug and hard to reproduce. An strange detail is that the bug is more easy to reproduce in previous versions example 0.138. I will try play in previous versions and see how to record an video and post an link here. In 0.138 has more change of see this issue. The last changes to fix the reset when finishing is an temporary hack ? If yes perhaps this is avoiding the emulation of the bug in arcade game code ? The bug reseting the game after of last boss happen in arcade, but I can't say if is with original or bootlegs versions. Brazil had original PCBs also. Double Dragon have others bugs in arcade. See the file posted. Have two save states. The arcade has an bug in game code that if difficulty is Easy, Medium or Hard the stones is moving in begin of last stage. If is Hardest the rocks not move. The first save is using easy, medium and hard. The second is hardest. Have another detail. When opening the save state is the ending of third stage. The stone turn in another color. This happen in arcade. Not is an MAME bug. |

The random issue not happen for an long time. Only happen in MAME old versions. Is how if the arcade bug was "fixed" with some changes in driver. In any way the issue is BTANB. |
