Do you mean the explosion debris that shows up when you shoot at an asteroid and it becomes a set of smaller ones? AFAIK these are a lot like the shots that originate from the ship - they are just single dots which aren't really enhanced with HLSL unless you adjust the beam width some .. EG: try setting BEAM to 1.5 .. this will allow your shots and explosions to be way more visible. I don't think it is a bug, in itself. After all, we cannot fully duplicate intricacies of vector monitors without ACTUAL vector monitors. |

The ship and the explosion is the only thing that is correct when the HLSL on and off. Look at the snapshots and then compare both on the brightness. You don't see the same thing on both. That is the point I'm making here. Have nothing to do with the beam. You can turn the beam up and down. Doesn't make any different because it won't be the same still. Something isn't right the way HLSL is putting out. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Anyway want to talk about the HLSL bugs then I will explain on what is going on with the HLSL on. I have no idea where to send this report on this website at. With the HLSL on the screen scale isn't correct. Doesn't matter if it is full screen or window mode. The screen move a few pixels off. Turn the HLSL off the screen is back where it was. Even the defocus will move the screen even more over a little. The scale isn't right. It need to be at the same scale as the HLSL off. That is one of the reason why everyone see the black bars in windows mode because of the screen move off the screen by a few pixels. Example below. This is what I been seeing. Now not all of the games aren't moving in this pattern. https://sites.google.com/site/o0kinghanco0o/Home/issues.png Games + defocus can be fix very easy by using the converge to move it back. But the screen scale can't be fix. There noway to move that back. Locked move by turning the HLSL on. I don't care if these issue gonna to be fix or not. Just my point of view on what is happening. |

Unfortunately, unless a launched game freezes or hangs or otherwise has n video through direct use of HLSL, that is the only time we generally accept anything related to HLSL. Function/performance or inability to use HLSL, minor graphic issues and other feature related requests are not allowed according to our rules here at MAMETESTERS. For that reason, I'm closing this bug out. Please refer to the help menu (far right Help pulldown menu), under Rules and Guidelines, right at the bottom. It has been like this for years. The only person qualified to talk about the HLSL framwork is Mooglyguy, as he created it and implemented it in MAME. A forum post anywhere you normally hang out very well might get his attention and, if he's willing or able and can understand PRECISELY what the issue might be, I'm quite sure he will respond to offer advise/help or at the very least acknowledge the situation. |
