Summary | 05331: konamigt, rf2: Steering controls stuck either all the way to the left or right after race countdown | ||||
Description |
after the race starts the steering controls are stuck either all the way to the left or all the way to the right. It is fine until you steer just a little bit, then the bug happens. I keep getting stuck in the guardrails and cannot unsteer. |
||||
Steps To Reproduce | |||||
Additional Information |
service mode says the steering is at 40. it should be at 00. also I am using a DualShock 3 controller (the steering is used by my left analog stick. I get no response when I am stuck.) when I do get to unsteer, every time I switch lanes, the screen flickers a bit. |

you can't? well, what does the handle (steering) command say in service mode? btw, I changed the command to keyboard and I get a different result. I can unsteer, but every time I release the key, I automatically steer back to the guardrail. |

Delete your NVRAM and CFG files and try again. |

The idea is to unplug your controller now and, even if you aren't actively using it, it might be influencing your game because of default mapping. Does it work when there is no external controller plugged in? |

it's better, but I still get shifted to the guardrail when I get to full speed. but the good news is - I can get out of the guardrail more easily. but as I do that, I get back to the guardrail about a few seconds later. at first I can drive straight, but if I even tap the keyboard (left or right), I automatically get shifted back to the guardrail. |

I have the same steering issues with this game. I checked in 0.185. A simple way to see the problem: Let the race start but don't accelerate. Hold right for a few seconds and release. Now start to accelerate and you will drive into the left side of track. MAME has the steering wheel set as a paddle however I believe it should be set as a dial. Unfortunately, I can't find a video of original hardware in action but take a look at this page showing the top and bottom of the control panel. I will attach a picture of the bottom in case the site goes down. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/konami-gt-arcade-control-panel-steering-wheel |

I confirmed with the person in this video of the original hardware that the wheel is "360 degree wheel with an opto disc encoder ". |
