Two separate screen captures under two set of circumstances. First game was straight from a save state restore where the machine state was runnning through the typical attract screens and a new gane was started (Lending to the possibility that it could be save state related). However, second capture was taken from a game in which after during the same session a complete play through to round 3 was performed; game over...Then a new game started under the same session, playing through to Round 4 and the same issue occurs. |

I tested boscomd 4 times and bosco once, but it cannot reproduce for me. Do you have the issue only in the boscomd set? Also your inp or save state file may help determining it. Does anyone else have the reset? |

Played ROM set 'bosco', same issue did not occur on Round 4, but in the middle of Round 5. |

Believe it may be time related (How long you have been playing) as opposed to when (What round) in the game. I noticed I played a much better/faster game with the bosco set as opposed to the boscomd set. Hence, the further level when the reset occurred with the bosco set (Round 5) than with the boscomd set (Round 4). |

I was able to reproduce the reset using mame64 0.142u6 I was playing the correct way until round 9 then I was purposely crashing the ship into the green bases to clear them. With 1 green base left until round 10 once my ship crashed it the reset happened. according to verbose it took 1611 seconds of playtime C:\MAME64>mame64 -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo -video d3d -noswitchres -triplebu ffer -multithreading -throttle -waitvsync -verbose Parsing mame.ini Parsing mame.ini Video: Monitor 0000000000010001 = "\\.\DISPLAY1" (primary) Direct3D: Using Direct3D 9 Direct3D: Configuring adapter #0 = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Direct3D: Using dynamic textures Direct3D: YUV format = RGB Direct3D: Device created at 1600x900 Direct3D: Max texture size = 8192x8192 DirectSound: Primary buffer: 48000 Hz, 16 bits, 2 channels RawInput: APIs detected Input: Adding Mouse #0: Microsoft USB Optical Mouse (IntelliPoint) Input: Adding Gun #0: Microsoft USB Optical Mouse (IntelliPoint) Input: Adding Kbd #0: Standard PS/2 Keyboard DirectInput: Using DirectInput 7 Input: Adding Joy #0: 4 axis 16 button joystick Starting Driver Device 'root' (missing dependencies; rescheduling) Starting Video Screen 'screen' Starting Driver Device 'root' Parsing mame.ini Parsing mame.ini Video: Monitor 0000000000010001 = "\\.\DISPLAY1" (primary) Direct3D: Using Direct3D 9 Direct3D: Configuring adapter #0 = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 Direct3D: Using dynamic textures Direct3D: YUV format = RGB Direct3D: Device created at 1600x900 Direct3D: Max texture size = 8192x8192 DirectSound: Primary buffer: 48000 Hz, 16 bits, 2 channels RawInput: APIs detected Input: Adding Mouse #0: Microsoft USB Optical Mouse (IntelliPoint) Input: Adding Gun #0: Microsoft USB Optical Mouse (IntelliPoint) Input: Adding Kbd #0: Standard PS/2 Keyboard DirectInput: Using DirectInput 7 Input: Adding Joy #0: 4 axis 16 button joystick Starting Driver Device 'root' (missing dependencies; rescheduling) Starting Z80 'maincpu' Starting Z80 'sub' Starting Z80 'sub2' Starting Namco 50xx '50xx_1' Starting MB8842 '50xx_1:mcu' Starting Namco 50xx '50xx_2' Starting MB8842 '50xx_2:mcu' Starting Namco 51xx '51xx' Starting MB8843 '51xx:mcu' Starting Namco 52xx '52xx' Starting MB8843 '52xx:mcu' Starting Namco 54xx '54xx' Starting MB8844 '54xx:mcu' Starting Namco 06xx '06xx_0' Starting Namco 06xx '06xx_1' Starting Video Screen 'screen' Starting Speaker 'mono' (missing dependencies; rescheduling) Starting Namco 'namco' Starting DISCRETE 'discrete' Starting Driver Device 'root' (missing dependencies; rescheduling) Starting Speaker 'mono' Starting Driver Device 'root' Average speed: 99.00% (1611 seconds) Sound: buffer overflows=521 underflows=27 |

I confirmed the crash two times in boscomd, one was in the stage 3 and another one was in the stage 5. I'm not sure what causes this yet, but these crashes happened when I use -autosave. trebor, do you confirm the crash when you don't use -autosave? |

This bug occurred to me twice on boscomd yesterday, and I did not use -autosave so it can't be caused by that. But for me, the reset only happens after I lose once and try again, I can play on the first credit just fine no matter how long it takes. I played the game until I lost and got a hi-score (first around 250k points and then over 400k points). Then I "inserted another coin", played again, and the game reset itself on round 6. I think it happened right after an enemy showed up and immediately crashed into a mine on one of the sides, even though it happened several times on my first credit play and didn't cause the reset... |
