Summary | 04084: skimaxx: Original PCB videos | ||||
Description |

Additional Information |
This board's video comes out really dark. The first video is the PCB running at the default RGB levels and the second is it running with the levels adjusted. Aslo the second video has the dip switches in a slightly different position. I don't have proper controls for the game so the in-game part of the video is just the game running and no movements. The player just sort of leans to the left. It still shows a lot of interesting things about the graphics and I got a good stereo recording of the sound. |

I got the color/brightness corrected and made another video that I'll add to the report later today. BTW I think the Dallas chip works as a suicide device. I had it removed (to dump it) and ran the board without it to see if it would work and after a while it died and now it won't run anymore even after I resoldered it back onto the board. Edit: After leaving the board powered off for a few hours, it works again. Really odd. I have no explanation. Edit #2: I found the problem. It's a broken connection somewhere on the main board. Depending on how the board is flexed, it either works correctly or doesn't. I haven't been able to trace it out and I think it might be internal and not fixable. Anyway, I can get reference videos of any of the stages but it won't be much of a re-seller pcb. |
