Summary | 02639: Most sets using 68ec020 CPU: Graphics Regression / Game Resets | ||||
Description |
Examples: - outfxies (namconb1.c) [snap included] Characters are misaligned to the floor and keep falling. Player and weapon objects are misaligned and not placed on the floor. They keep going down and disappear. - Most games in taito_f3.c have graphic regressions. - dariusg (taito_f3) resets it self while viewing introduction - dreamwld (dreamwld.c) doesn't accept credits correctly. You hear the credit sound, but the push start dialog never shows up. - gblchmp + clones (taito_f3) - As soon as you start fighting and throwing punches, you get an "illegal instruction" message on the screen and the game resets. http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=172181 |

Are we sure this is a cpu core issue and not a interleave re-calculation issue? I assume by the wording in the whatsnew that now all the interleaves are 'perfectly' calculated on the fly regardless of what is in the drivers.. Anyway - the whole of taito_f3 is pretty broken. Odd graphics regressions in most sets, games that reset during the intro (dariusg). |

I don't see why CPU interleave would break the graphics on things like Taito F3, so it's either something with the 68020, or maybe just the entire 68k core (although I've not found any 68000 games that are broken, so probably just the 68020) |

macrossp.c driver (68020 + 68000 hardware) is broken too. GFX corrupted and you're not able to insert coins. |

working fine in current build, I think Aaron has fixed all of these, should be fine in the next update unless something breaks again before then. |
