Summary | 02051: All vertical games: Problem with adjusting screen position/stretch with vertical games
Description | I only tested this one driver - adjustments in the new video system (0.107+) allow for setting horz and vert stretch and position via the "`~" key. In this driver, all games that are presented in a vertical orientation, when using the vertical adjustments in the menu, end up moving the horizontal. The same is true adjusting the horizontal settings (which end up changing the vertical ones).
Steps To Reproduce |
- Load any vertical oriented set in driver taito_sj.c (Alpine Ski, Front Line, Wild Western..) - Enter the ` adjustment menu. - Find screen 0 vert position setting. - Attempt to adjust - you'll notice the screen moving horizontally. |
||||
Additional Information |
This seems to be more widespread than this driver - it appears that drivers at this moment can only be set up with one orientation and anything opposite the chosen default will not work as expected. Some Examples: AEROFGT.C - horizontal by default. AEROFGT acts like above and PSSPIKES is ok. MCR.c - horizontal by default. TRON (a vertical game) acts like above and TAPPER is ok (Horiz) NAMCOS1.c - horzontal by default. GALAGA88 acts like above. SPLATTER is ok (Horiz) |

it could simply be the consequence of On Screen Display not reading correctly (or at all) the rotation flag set in each driver... |

This is NOT A BUG. The controls are for the monitor. Monitors are horizontal. If you have a vertical game, you adjust the horizontal scaling if you want to stretch it vertically. |
