Summary | 01604: xexex, xexexa, xexexj: Stage clear music overlapping boss music after finishing a level | ||||
Description |
When you fight a boss, the level music changes. Once you defeat said boss, you hear a "level cleared" jingle be played -on top- of the boss music - basically, the boss music never stops playing until the cutscene between levels starts to play. I'm not sure if this is normal behavior or not... but it probably isn't. This happened to me after defeating the first and second level bosses, I didn't go much further than that. I attached a MAME 0.123 savestate for xexexj which will load the game right after I dealt the final blow to the first boss, and allows you to listen to the music issues I noticed. (Note that xexex.c savestates aren't officially supported, so it might not work for you.) I tested this on xexex, xexexa and xexexj. All three sets had the same issues. |

Tested on mame 0.203. Issue still happening. Original hardware. Skip to 4:00. There's an audio fade out in the boss music right when it starts exploding. This never happens in MAME: More pcb evidence here. Skip to 6:45 |
